Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is the most famous Ukrainian monastery in the world and the largest in Ukraine.
The Lavra complex is located on several hills near the Dnipro in the right bank of Kyiv. The history of the monastery begins in the middle of the XI century, when the first monks settled in the caves. The founders of the monastery are the Venerables Anthony and Theodosius. In 1990, the Lavra Monastery was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
