Magnolias in Kyiv begin to bloom at temperatures above 15 degrees and bloom for about a month, usually in April. First, species with white and white-pink flowers bloom, and later - with pink and purple flowers.
The Oleksandr Fomin Botanical Garden in the center of Kyiv has the largest collection of magnolias in Ukraine, with more than 70 species and varieties. The main decoration of the botanical garden is the Magnolia Garden, which was founded in 1976. The following species of pink and purple magnolia grow here: Sulanzha, Zenii, and lily-flowered.
