Monument to the children shot in Babi Yar

The monument to the children shot in Babi Yar is located next to the Dorogozhychi metro station. It was unveiled on September 30, 2001 (on September 29, 1941, the mass executions of Jews in Babi Yar began) in memory of the children whose lives were cut short during the German occupation of Kyiv. The monument is a bronze sculptural composition installed on a granite pedestal. In the center is the figure of a girl with outstretched arms. Behind her sit a rag clown and a boy-puppet with a severed head. The name of the monument and the authors are indicated on the pedestal. In 2016, as part of commemorative events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the mass executions in Babyny Yar, the monument was restored.
