A memorial plaque to Prince Volodymyr was installed on the northern facade of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.

Prince Volodymyr the Great ruled on the Kyiv throne in 978–1015. During his reign, Rus gained the greatest power and completed the formation of its territory, becoming one of the strongest and largest states. In 988, the Prince of Kyiv chose Eastern Christianity as the state religion of Kyivan Rus. After that, he built a number of churches in Kyiv and beyond, in particular, the Tenth Church. Glorified by the Orthodox Church as an Equal-to-the-Apostles saint.

The memorial plaque was installed in June 2015, and was unveiled on July 28, when Ukraine celebrated the Baptism of Kyivan Rus and the 1000th anniversary of Prince Volodymyr's death. After the Divine Liturgy, the board was consecrated by the Primate of the UOC, Metropolitan Onufry (Berezovsky) of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

The memorial plaque is a bronze bas-relief of St. Volodymyr. This is actually a metal icon framed by a carved frame made of white marble. The Prince is depicted with a crown on his head, as well as a cross in his right hand and a Tithe Church in his left hand. This symbolizes his activity in the spread of Christianity on the territory of Russia and the construction of temples. Under the icon, a prayer is engraved in golden letters: "Holy equal to the apostles Prince Volodymyr, pray to God for us."

Address: 9 Lavrska Street.
