Mikhail Kravchuk (1892 - 1942) - world-renowned mathematician, one of the inventors of the computer, the author of developments used by Americans and Japanese on television. UNESCO has included the name of the Ukrainian in the list of the most outstanding personalities. "My love is Ukraine and mathematics" was his life credo. A monument to Mykhailo Kravchuk has been erected near the main building of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. It was unveiled on May 22, 2003.
