Oleksandr Saienko (1899–1985) was a People's Artist of Ukraine. He gained popularity due to paintings made in the technique of inlaying with straw. At the initiative of UNESCO, Saenko's name was included in the list of outstanding cultural figures of the world. The artist lived and worked in Kyiv. Buried in Baikove Cemetery. The granite tombstone depicts the most famous work of the master - "Kozak-Mamai".
