Lidia Herasimchuk (1922 - 1958) - a native of Kyiv, prima ballerina of the Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theater, Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. The first performer of leading parts in a number of ballets by Ukrainian composers. Performed the parts: Mariula (Lileya by K. Dankevich), Marusya Boguslavka (by A. Svechnikov), Guyana (by A. Khachaturian), etc.
She was buried at Baikove Cemetery. In 1960, a bronze monument "The Dying Swan" was erected on the grave.
