Georgy Gongadze (1969–2000) is a Ukrainian opposition journalist of Georgian descent, known for his criticism of the authorities, and the founder of the Ukrainian Pravda online publication. A memorial plaque to Georgy Gongadze has been erected on the facade of the building of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine. The plaque was unveiled on September 16, 2020, on the 20th anniversary of the journalist's murder.
