Oleksiy Kolomiets (1919-1994) is an outstanding Ukrainian Soviet playwright, one of the founders of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. His works have been staged in theaters in Kyiv, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Moscow and other cities of the USSR, as well as in Bulgaria, Poland, Canada and Yugoslavia. A memorial plaque to Oleksiy Kolomiets has been erected on the facade of the house where the writer lived and worked in 1964-1994. It was unveiled on March 17, 2009 - on the day of the 90th anniversary of playwright.
