Monument to Nikolai Gogol on Andrew's Descent

Nikolai Gogol (1809-1852) was a Russian novelist, short story writer and playwright of Ukrainian origin. Gogol came to Kyiv many times: the first time in 1827, and the last time in 1848. He expressed his love for the ancient city, addressing it in his works. The monument to Nikolai Gogol on Andrew's Descent is the third monument to the writer in Kyiv. It was installed in the middle of the descent, near the stairs to the Zamkova Hora. It was unveiled on March 26, 2021 on the eve of the writer's birthday.
