Oles Honchar (1918-1995) - writer, publicist and public figure. One of the greatest representatives of Ukrainian fiction of the second half of the XX century. A monument to Oles Honchar has been erected at the entrance to the park named after him. Not far from this place, the writer lived and worked in a writer's house. The monument was unveiled on May 29, 2001.
