Monument to Alexander Pushkin on Pechersk

Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837) - Russian poet, who is called the creator of modern n literary language. The writer came to Kyiv in 1821. A monument to Alexander Pushkin on Pechersk was erected at the main entrance of the National Transport University, where the Pechersk Gymnasium №5 was located a century ago. The monument was unveiled on May 26, 1899 in honor of the centenary of the poet's birth.
