Nativity of Christ orthodox church in Obolon - one of the most interesting among the new churches in Kyiv. The architecture of the temple differs from traditional Orthodox churches - it is made in the style of the surrounding new buildings, although inside it is fully consistent with Orthodox canons. This is done so that the temple, together with neighboring houses, creates a single integral complex. Obolonsky temple is a vivid example of modern architectural style and ancient traditions of temple building. The main decoration of the facade is a ceramic icon-panel "Nativity of Christ" measuring 38 sq.m. Its author is People's Artist of Ukraine Lyudmila Meshkova. The design and construction of the church lasted in 2003-2008. On January 5, 2008, on the eve of the feast day of the Nativity of Christ, the temple was consecrated. In addition to the main church, another one, in honor of the holy martyr Valentine, is located on the basement floor. Due to its favorable location and beauty, the Church of the Nativity is a popular place for weddings.
