Saints Constantine and Helena Church on Podil

Saints Constantine and Helena Church on Podil is one of the famous Orthodox churches in this ancient part of Kyiv. It was built in 1734. In 1747-57 the famous architect Ivan Hryhorovych-Barsky completed a gallery and a bell tower in the Ukrainian Baroque style around it. In the early 1930s, during the period of intensified persecution of the Church, the parish was liquidated, the church was destroyed. Only a part of the refectory church of St. Demetrius (Dimitriy) remains from the temple complex.
