Georgy Dzis (1926-2003) – statesman, academician of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine, founder of bar coding in Ukraine. Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR in 1986-1990. In June 1986, he led and directly participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP. In September 1994, he founded the "EAN-Ukraine" Commodity Numbering Association of Ukraine and became its president. Author of more than 80 scientific publications. A bronze plaque commemorating George Dzis is installed on the facade of the building where the academician worked in 1990-2003. It unveiled on July 26, 2004.
