Monument to Muslim Magomayev in Kyiv

Muslim Magomaev (1942-2008) is a world-famous opera and pop singer, composer, People's Artist of Azerbaijan and the USSR. His concert repertoire included more than 600 works. In 1964, he gave a concert in Kyiv, during which he performed the well-known Ukrainian folk song "I am looking at the sky".

The monument to Muslim Magomayev in Kyiv is located in a small square named after him, which is formed by the intersection of four streets: Sichovykh Striltsiv, Vyacheslava Chornovola, Dymytrivska and Hlibova. The opening of the monument to Muslim Magomayev took place on July 18, 2018, as part of the 75th anniversary of the artist's birthday. The monument, like the square, was unveiled on the initiative and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
