The mosaic composition "Kyi, Shchek, Khoriv and their sister Lybid" adorns the side facade of the Kyiv Municipal Academic Puppet Theater. The author of the mosaic painting is Ukrainian monumental artist Hryhoriy Dovzhenko. The author performed his work in 1970. It was at this time that the author turned in his works to the themes of the national past, namely to the times of Kyivan Rus'. In this composition, the artist depicted the legendary founders of Kyiv, using broken ceramic tiles, but to a greater extent - smalt - a favorite finishing material of ancient Ukrainian masters.
