Memorial plaque to St Luke the Surgeon Archbishop of Simferopol and the Crimea

Luke (Valentin Voino-Yasenetsky; 1877-1961) - an outstanding surgeon; church leader, archbishop of Crimea and Simferopol, saint of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He studied at the 2nd Kyiv Gymnasium, in 1898-1903 studied at the Medical Faculty of Kyiv St. Volodymyr's University. After graduation he worked at the Kyiv Medical Hospital of the Red Cross. A memorial plaque to Archbishop Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky) is installed on the facade of the rectory of the National Medical University.
