If you go down to Podil along the curved and steep Volodymyrskyi Descent, you will see a magnificent panorama of Podil buildings. At the beginning of Petra Sahaidachnoho Street, opposite the lower station of the Kyiv Funicular, stands the Church of the Nativity. It is one of the landmarks of Poshtova Square and the entire Podil district. The church is known primarily as Shevchenko's Church, but it is also interesting for its long, complex, and dramatic history.
