One of the four churches of the Holy Trinity Monastery "Kytayiva Pustyn", located on the southern outskirts of Kyiv, was built in memory of the visit of the orthodox saint - Seraphim of Sarov (+1803).
In 1767, Peter Moshnin, the son of a Kursk merchant, came to the Kytayiv monastery to the ascetic and seer Dositheus, who received a blessing from the elder to become a monk in the Sarov monastery (now in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation) and eventually became known to the entire Orthodox world as Seraphim of Sarov.
In the name of this saint, in the early 2000s, a brick church was built, which is located opposite the main gate in the center of the western half of the monastery grounds. It stands on the site of the house church of the same name in 1904, built a year after the canonization of Saint Seraphim. The temple itself is an extension to the building of the almshouse from the end of the 19th century.
Feast days: January 15, August 1.
Confession: Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Address: 15 Kytayivska Street.
