The Transfiguration Cathedral on Teremky-2 is one of the brightest examples of modern architecture and a pearl of church architecture in Kyiv and Ukraine. It was built in 2005-2011.
The bell tower rises next to the cathedral. Its laying took place on April 17, 2011 - Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Volodymyr (Sabodan) laid the capsule at the base of the future structure. The construction of the bell tower lasted about a year and a half. By the way, the height of the bell tower reaches almost 23 meters.
The bell tower has the largest carillon in Ukraine with 56 bells covering all the notes of the piano row. By the way, the bells themselves were cast in the Netherlands. In the daytime, the ringing is played on the carillon automatically by recording. Among the melodies - "Hymn of Ukraine", "Shchedryk". Live ringing can be heard before and after worships on Sundays and church feasts.
On the first floor of the bell tower in 2015, with the participation of the three presidents of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yushchenko, the memorial museum of Metropolitan Vladimir (Sabodan) was opened. In front of the bell tower there is a monument to him, opened in 2016.
In addition, the fountain «Ruslana» is equipped on the main facade.
The temple complex of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Kyiv harmoniously combines the features of traditional Old Rus’ architecture and innovative lines that give an individual look.
