Rostyslav Synko (1933-2010) was an outstanding film director, sculptor, screenwriter, publicist, one of the founders of Ukrainian television, and a multiple winner of international and national film and television festivals. He has directed about 40 films. Rostyslav Synko made a great deal of effort to perpetuate the memory of Ukrainian sculptor, film director, playwright, screenwriter, and film artist Ivan Kavaleridze: he founded and headed the Ivan Kavaleridze Museum and Workshop until 2008, and created his tombstone at the Baikove Cemetery. He was one of the initiators of the revival of the monument to Princess Olha on Mykhailivska Square. According to his project, a monument to Yaroslav the Wise was erected near the Golden Gate.

A bronze plaque to Rostyslav Synko was installed on the facade of the building that houses the Ivan Kavaleridze Museum and Workshop, which he founded. It was opened on October 23, 2015, on the fifth anniversary of the death of the prominent Ukrainian film director.

Address: 21 Andriivskyi Uzviz.
