A bronze memorial plaque to Mykhailo Dragomanov was erected on the facade of the main building of Taras Shevchenko National University.
Mykhailo Drahomanov (1841-1895) - writer, philosopher, historian, ethnographer, literary critic, social and political activist. In 1859-1863 he studied at the Faculty of History and Philology of the University of Kyiv. In 1871-1876 the South-Western Department of the Russian Geographical Society, in the activities of which Drakomanov participated, operated at the university. The department, in particular, published his historical songs (1874-1875).
