Yuriy Lavrov (1905–80) – actor, director, People's Artist of the USSR. Played more than 200 roles in the theater and 40 in the cinema, staged 60 performances. He worked at the Kyiv Academic Drama Theater named after Lesya Ukrainka, where was at. chief director, later artistic director of the drama studio of the Kyiv House of Scientists and deputy chairman of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Theater Society.
A bronze memorial plaque with a bas-relief portrait of Yuriy Lavrov was installed on the main facade of the house where the actor lived in 1980. In the second half of the 2010s, the plaque was restored.
