Memorial plaque to Lieutenant Denys Antipov

A memorial plaque to Denys Antipov is installed on the facade of the bell tower of the St. Nicholas Church on the Askold grave in Pechersk. The pantheon of Heroes of Ukraine has been created at this place since the 2010s.

Air reconnaissance lieutenant Denys Antipov with the call sign "Buk" fought as part of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He had a reservation because of his teaching work at T.G. Shevchenko University, where, in particular, he taught the Korean language. But despite this, he was at the front from the first days of the war. Died on May 11, 2022, in a defensive battle near the village of Dovgenke, near Izyum in Kharkiv Oblast, during mortar and artillery fire by Russian forces. The defender was 32 years old at that time.

The opening of the memorial plaque took place on May 11, 2023 - the anniversary of the death of Denys Antipov. The place to install the board was not chosen by chance - Denis Antipov was a parishioner of the Church of St. Nicholas since childhood. The rite of consecration of the board was led by the bishop of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church Andrii Khimyak.

The gray granite board is decorated with ornaments in the national style. It contains three bronze parts: on the left - an annotation plate with a trident, on the right - a square bas-relief portrait of a military serviceman, below - a strip with the lines of Maryana Savka's poem: " Ми так любили, Господи, як лиш могли, ми горіли – не жевріли серед імли".

Address: 1 Parkova doroha.
