Alipius Pechersky or Kyiv Caves (? - 1114) - saint, mosaicist, icon painter and jeweler, the first named Old Rus painter. It is known that as a monk of the Kyiv Pechersk monastery, Alipius took part in painting and creating mosaics of the Assumption Cathedral of the monastery.
A bronze memorial plaque to Alipius of Kyiv Caves was installed on the surviving part of Assumption cathedral. It unveiled in 1982 - to the 1500th anniversary of Kyiv.
