
Babi Yar is a tract on the northwestern outskirts of Kyiv, between Lukyanivka and Syrets. This place became world famous because of the mass shootings, mostly of Jews, carried out by the German occupiers in 1941-1943 during the Second World War. More than 100-150 thousand people were shot in total. A historical and memorial reserve and a planned Holocaust memorial are located here.
