The monument to the cat Panteleimon is located in Zolotovoritskyi Square Park. It is a favorite of Kyiv residents, but not all citizens know that the purr's real name is not Panteleimon, but Pantegruel, after the name of a local restaurant. Residents of our city have composed many legends about him, one of them says that on the night of the fire in the restaurant, the cat managed to warn its visitors about the disaster, but failed to escape.
After that, regular visitors began to donate money to repair the restaurant, and it was decided to erect a bronze monument to the cat with the same money. This was done in 1998. By the way, the bird was originally accompanied by a cat, but for some people it became a tourist trophy as a souvenir. The monument to the cat is a great success, with visitors to the city coming to take pictures, so that the ears and tail are already shining with the gold of polished bronze.
