Kazimir Malevich (1878–1935) was an avant-garde artist, one of the founders of abstract art, and the author of the famous Black Square. A monument to Kazimir Malevich has been erected near the place where the house where the artist was born and raised stood. The monument was unveiled on May 26, 2008.
