Obolon is one of the youngest and most picturesque districts of Kyiv, where, along with modern residential areas, you can see many interesting monuments and art objects reflecting different eras and meanings: from classical sculptures to contemporary monuments. If you wish, you can turn a simple walking route into a themed “monument tour,” especially since most of the monuments and sculptures are located between Obolonskyi Avenue and the embankment. The latter has gradually become a kind of “open-air gallery.”
1. Monument in honor of Santiago de Chile
The monument was erected on the square of the same name in 2001 in honor of the strengthening of friendly ties between the sister cities of Kyiv and Santiago. It consists of three metal columns joined together with bronze symbols of Chile at the top — a condor and a guanaco.

2. Monument to Dog Loyalty
This sculpture was unveiled on Obolonska Embankment in 2013. It consists of bronze figures of two retrievers — a mother and her son — on a granite pedestal engraved with the words: “Dogs value loyalty more than we do and never forget those they love.”

3. Monuments to saints – the four evangelists and Archangel Michael
Two pairs of bronze sculptures of the apostles Luke, Mark, Matthew, and John on tall granite pedestals are installed next to Vladimir Ivasyuk Avenue on the “Road to the Temple” alley leading to Pokrovsky Cathedral. Installed in the 2000s.
The monument to Archangel Michael, who has been considered the heavenly patron of the city since the times of Kievan Rus, has stood in the park near the Minska metro station since 2000. The bronze sculpture, installed on a granite pedestal, traditionally depicts the archangel with a fiery sword.

4. Monuments to Soldiers-Patriots and Heroes of Ukraine
The first monument is dedicated to those who fulfilled their international duty in the world's hot spots and those who defend the right to freedom and protect the integrity of Ukraine today. It was installed in a park near the Bratislava cinema in 2014.
In the same year, a second monument was unveiled in memory of the defenders of Ukraine.

5. Monument to Samad Vurgun
The monument is located next to the library named after the Azerbaijani poet, not far from the Bratislava cinema. It was unveiled in 2006 to mark the 100th anniversary of Samad Vurgun's birth.
