The Holosiiv campus of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv on Akademika Hlushkova Street is a unique dialogue between Soviet modernism and living nature. Monumental reliefs on the facades, majestic concrete forms, and a carefully designed landscape create a distinctive atmosphere of a scientific campus right next to the “Vystavkovyi Tsentr” metro station.
Every season here reveals a new dimension — from the ochre reliefs depicting people of labour and science to the yellow-and-blue flowerbeds that seem to deliberately echo the colours of the Ukrainian flag. This is a place where the architecture of an era and everyday student life coexist in the same unhurried rhythm. Today, these buildings blend organically with blooming gardens and modern student life, remaining one of Kyiv’s most expressive architectural sites.
