Magnolias in Kyiv begin to bloom when the temperature rises above 15 degrees and bloom for about a month. Then huge lines of people line up to the flowering trees with fragrant flowers to take pictures of them.
Today, the magnolia collection of the Fomin Botanical Garden is the largest in Ukraine and includes more than 70 species, hybrids, and varieties. The botanical garden began growing magnolias in 1905. In 1976, the Magnolia Garden was laid out, which is now the main decoration of the botanical garden and the spring business card of Kyiv. The garden is located in the central part of the botanical garden, in a lowland, which is a valley between the hills. An alley stretches across it, lined with magnolia plants. The alley has a bend that resembles an open loop, so that a panoramic view of the trees opens from the sidewalk.
