The upper gazebo on Volodymyrska Hill is an example of a small architectural form of the 2nd half of the 19th century. It offers a magnificent view of the Dnipro River, Trukhaniv and Rybalsky islands, and Podil.
During the reconstruction of the park in the 1980s, a small hill under the gazebo was turned into a round stylobate paved with fragments of granite blocks and surrounded by six stairs. At the same time, a retaining wall was built to distance the structure from the slope and protect the gazebo from landslides.
Compositionally, the gazebo is an elongated octagonal tent resting on 14 cast-iron columns with fences between them. The columns are designed in the order system, with pseudo-Egyptian capitals. Each of the columns has rectangular vertical overlaps on both sides, presumably intended to secure the inserted glazed wooden frame. At the top, the columns are connected by semicircular cast-iron lintels decorated in the spirit of arabesques. The roof overhang is decorated with patterned cast-iron pendentives. The roof ridge is also decorated in the same way, flanked by two thin spiers.
Inside the gazebo there are several benches where you can read a book, talk to someone, or just admire the beautiful views of Kyiv.
