Fountain Dandelion in Kyiv

The Dandelion Fountain on the Maidan Nezalezhnosti is located on the northern “ceremonial” part of the square, in front of the main facade of the Conservatory building. Here he appeared in 2001 during the reconstruction of the Maidan for the 10th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine.

The fountain is a metal structure installed inside a round granite pool. Water exits through tubes that form a ball and through nozzles arranged in a circle in the fountain bowl.

In operating mode, the fountain becomes very similar to a ripe dandelion, for which it got its name. However, for some it resembles something else, therefore it has alternative names: "Ball", "Chamomile", "Planet", "Globe" and "Hedgehog".
