The Podilsko-Voskresensky bridge or Podilsky bridge crossing runs across the Dnipro and Desenka rivers and connects Podil with the left-bank districts of Voskresenka and Raiduzhny massif.
The technical and economic justification of the construction was developed back in 1987-1989. Construction began in 1993, although the actual date is 2003; therefore, it was repeatedly stopped due to lack of funding. At the time of publication of the material, the work has not yet been completed.
The structure is a two-story building consisting of three bridges and overpasses that connect them. In Podil, the overpass will start from Naberezhno-Khreshchatytska Street. On the upper tier, six lanes are planned for the movement of motor vehicles, on the lower one - two tracks of the Podilsko-Vygurivska metro line with the three stations.
The total length of the buildings of the Podilsko-Voskresensky bridge is 7.5 km, the width of the bridges and overpasses is 35 m. The span of the arch suspension bridge is 344 m - upon completion of construction, the structure should become the largest arch bridge in Europe.
