Building No. 28/19 on the corner of Lyuteranska and Kruhlouniversytetska streets was built at the beginning of the 20th century and is a monument of urban planning and architecture.
The plot on which the building was erected once belonged to the family of the wife of the world-famous composer and conductor Ihor Stravinsky, Kateryna Nosenko from Kyiv. The composer himself often stayed in the building that was previously on this site. Kateryna Nosenko and her sister sold the estate to the Mukhins brothers, who built this house, according to various sources, in 1901 or 1905-1906.
The five-story brick building is designed in the Art Nouveau style. Among the stucco decoration elements, you can see chestnut leaves, hop cones, sunflowers and various flowers. A small tower on the roof was a mandatory attribute of all corner houses in the old days. A tram ran along the building to Bankova Street - the rails were removed at the end of the 1930s.
In 2019, a memorial plaque to the composer Ihor Stravinsky was installed on the facade from the side of Lyuteranska Street.
