The building at 22 Holosiivskyi avenue has a typological value - it is one of the few surviving houses of the historical building of the former working suburb of Kyiv - Demiivka. In 1870, the merchant of the 2nd guild Itsko-Yankel Baryshpolsky began to work on the construction of a Jewish prayer school in his own estate on Demiivka. The chapel (synagogue) was opened in 1878. The investor donated the house to the Jewish community. Since then, the building has been repeatedly reconstructed, its purpose has changed. The house was used as a place of worship and as a Jewish educational institution. In 1925, the communities were closed, the house was transferred to the district club of single handicraftsmen. Now here is the House of Children's and Youth Creativity of the Holosiivskyi District.
